This Intermediate publication (intermediate study curriculum (RCM Level 5–6)) serves as an instructive study in keyboard voicing. Pianists must address managing two-part hand coordination and synchronizing pedal changes with harmonic shifts. Passages dominated by transparent two-part polyphony and classical Alberti motion benefit from conscious dynamic shading. Regarding pedal usage, lift the damper pedal cleanly on phrase boundaries to preserve classical transparency. Practice Focus: record your practice with emphasis on listening for crisp pedal releases on each harmonic pivot. Score pointer: Juilliard Practice Blueprint for 45 Pieces for Pianoforte: Master hands-separate voice isolation at 65% tempo. Focus on ringing bell-like touch, crisp rhythmic .

The rhythmic foundation is anchored in 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), yielding a balanced metric groundwork providing grounded stability with primary weight on beat one and secondary stress on beat three. Paced at ♩ = 88 BPM (Moderato), the tempo projects a balanced with steady metric poise musical mood. To refine rhythmic clarity, listen for the overarching four-bar hypermeter to keep phrases singing rather than measure-bound.

Set within the harmonic domain of C Major (zero sharps and zero flats), the score secures tonal focus on C. Expressive depth is enhanced through secondary pivots into A Minor and dominant reinforcement via G Major. Tonal construction prioritizes diatonic primary chords, balancing F Major warmth against dominant G Major tension. In terms of hand topography, C Major yields a white-key keyboard terrain where maintaining firm knuckle support prevents flat-finger fatigue.

Curatorial Repertoire Role: The work serves as a reliable selection for studio recitals, competitive festivals, and scholarly score readings.

Tessitura & Key Transposition: While engraved in C Major, the work accommodates vocal adjustments readily: modulating down into B-flat Major eases strain for baritones, whereas moving upward to D Major highlights brilliance in soprano or tenor solos.
