Metric propulsion relies on 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), giving the piece an authoritative quadruple framework where downbeat accents anchor the overarching phrase architecture. Set to a metronome speed of ♩ = 97 BPM (*Tempo comodo*), the overall character feels composed with disciplined, graceful rhythm. Pianists should ensure that they subdivide internally with relaxed forearm weight to prevent metric stiffness across bar lines.

Graded at the Intermediate level (intermediate benchmark (ABRSM/RCM Grade 4–6)), the score fosters disciplined keyboard ergonomics. The primary technical hurdle involves managing two-part hand coordination and synchronizing pedal changes with harmonic shifts. When negotiating Alberti bass patterns and contrapuntal voice exchanges, ensure the singing melody stays dynamically elevated over the accompaniment. Acoustically, use light, shallow pedaling to enhance acoustic warmth without muddling inner voices. Study Routine: practice left-hand harmonic leaps with closed eyes to develop spatial keyboard instinct.

Tonal grounding is defined by E-flat Major, marked in the score by three flats (B♭, E♭, A♭). The music alternates stability on E♭ with expressive harmonic excursions toward C Minor and its parallel relation, E-flat Minor. Harmonically, the progression Eb → Bb → Cm → Ab navigates expressive chord variations (Cm, Ab) returning home cleanly. From a tactile perspective, navigating this key delivers a majestic keyboard architecture where three flats naturally cushion fingers two, three, and four.

When programming this selection, music educators frequently schedule Arirang – Flute & Piano (E-flat Major) for classical concert programming and conservatory performance audits. When adjusting the native tonality of E-flat Major, accompanists can shift down a step to D-flat Major for lower voice types or lift the melody into F Major for tenors and sopranos. Woodwinds read comfortably using B-flat Major. From an attribution perspective: Due to authorial timeline expiry, the piece is in the worldwide public domain for academic and commercial performance alike.
