Key challenges focus on coordinating independent dynamic levels between hands while maintaining steady metric propulsion. In sections with traditional choral block voicings with cantus firmus projection, maintain flexible forearm rotation to prevent stiffness. Pedaling requirement: change damper pedal precisely with text syllable and chord changes. Practice Focus: play the melody forte while ghost-tapping the accompaniment keys silently beneath the surface. Score pointer: Sanctuary Rehearsal Blueprint for Ave verum: Master Tenor and Bass voice leading at 70 BPM. Voice soprano melody prominently for congregational singing. Target .

Cast in F Major (one flat (B♭)), the composition organizes its melodic arcs around F. Dynamic tension arises from modulatory motion toward the relative mode of D Minor, balanced by harmonic stabilization from B-flat Major. Voice leading proceeds primarily through diatonic harmonic motion involving tonic, subdominant, and dominant degrees. Under the fingers, F Major features an expansive keyboard color historically prized for tranquil, pastoral cantabile expressions.

Rhythmic momentum flows through a 4/4 metric framework (simple quadruple meter). Calibrated to ♩ = 88 BPM (*Tempo comodo*), the piece moves with a composed with disciplined, graceful rhythm pulse. As a practical study rule, listen for the overarching four-bar hypermeter to keep phrases singing rather than measure-bound.
