Operating within 4/4, this simple quadruple meter generates a balanced metric groundwork providing grounded stability with primary weight on beat one and secondary stress on beat three. The benchmark tempo of ♩ = 108 BPM (Allegretto) conveys a moderately brisk, bright, and buoyant sensibility. During execution, listen for the overarching four-bar hypermeter to keep phrases singing rather than measure-bound.

Designed for Beginner level pianists (novice keyboard curriculum (Alfred Level 1 / Bastien Primer)), this piece demands clean articulation and hand balance. The chief hurdle entails maintaining a relaxed five-finger hand position, avoiding wrist stiffness, and reading notes accurately. Balancing transparent two-part polyphony and classical Alberti motion requires distinct volume separation between parts. Furthermore, employ syncopated pedal changes immediately following each chordal shift to avoid acoustic blurs. Technical Drill: play hands separately at 60 BPM while naming note names aloud to solidify keyboard geography.

With E Minor as the primary tonal anchor, the notation designates one sharp (F♯, with D♯ harmonic inflection). Phrase arches gravitate toward E, counterpointed by coloristic pivots into G Major and subdominant foundations in A Minor. Harmonically, the progression Em → Am → D → G → B7 concludes with an authentic resolution that firmly anchors the home pitch. Keyboardists will find that E Minor creates an introspective minor landscape that asks for flexible wrist cushioning during expressive descents.
