Coastline Piano Solo Arrangement with Chords, Metronome & BPM

Originating within the modern pop keyboard selections, Coastline by Eric Dobek exemplifies structural economy and melodic clarity. Spanning 2 pages and 49 measures, its source material derives from standard contemporary studio engravings. Catalog registries document the score under identifier `mbid-6bc1a3ab-pianistforum` with ISWC `T-6BC.1A3.AB-1`.

Anchored in C Minor, this work utilizes a key signature of three flats (B♭, E♭, A♭, with B♮ raised leading tone). The composer builds structural coherence around C, deploying the relative pole (E-flat Major) to introduce tonal contrast before resolving through G Major. Harmonically, the progression Cm → Dm → G → C → F → E7 cycles smoothly through harmonic steps (F, E7) back toward the tonic. Pianistically, the key produces a commanding acoustic realm with abrupt dynamic contrasts between minor darkness and major relief.

Organized under a 4/4 time signature, the music exhibits a simple quadruple meter with 4 beats per measure. At ♩ = 108 BPM (Allegro moderato), the pacing unfolds in a manner described as lively with energetic forward stride. A core performance guideline: avoid pounding downbeats mechanically; keep the line buoyant through intermediate pulses.

Assigned an overall Easy rating (elementary benchmark (ABRSM/RCM Grade 2–3)), the composition exercises manual independence. The central obstacle centers on securing rhythmic stability between hands and navigating gentle five-finger position changes. In performing broken arpeggio figures and modern pulse chords, keep finger knuckles rounded and poised. For acoustic hygiene, feather the pedal to sustain bass notes without drowning upper textures. Recommended Exercise: rehearse hands individually with a metronome at slow speeds before coordinating hands together.

1. Recital Staging: This selection integrates smoothly into informal recitals, private studio practice, and collaborative accompaniment.

2. Key Customization: Performers can shift the default tonality of C Minor according to singer comfort: a downward transition to B-flat Minor reduces top-range vocal demands, while modulating to D Minor enhances acoustic carrying power for solo recitals.

3. Licensing Status: Organized for studio learning under `unknown`, supporting keyboard technique drills and performance prep.
