Comp Assignment Piano Solo Arrangement with Chords, Metronome & BPM

Attributed to Shannon Salvatori, Comp Assignment forms an integral entry in the popular pop sheet music repertoire. Laid out across 2 pages containing 41 measures, this score draws authenticity from verified performance editions and modern engravings. Work tracking associates this edition with ISWC identifier `T-741.96A.60-1` and registry `mbid-74196a60-pianistforum`.

Cast in 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), the score delivers a steady common-time pulse providing natural rhythmic symmetry across four quarter-note subdivisions. At ♩ = 115 BPM (*Allegro moderato*), the musical progression remains lively with energetic forward stride. Pedagogical directive: subdivide internally with relaxed forearm weight to prevent metric stiffness across bar lines.

The foundational pitch center is E-flat Major (three flats (B♭, E♭, A♭)). Here, E♭ serves as the primary resting point, while modulations into C Minor and dominant tensions in B-flat Major shape the emotional contour. Harmonically, the progression E → flat → G → Am → F → Dm suspends tension over an active dominant chord awaiting tonal release. In terms of hand topography, E-flat Major yields a noble and expansive tonal landscape historically associated with solemn grandeur and expressive weight.

Pedagogically suited for Easy students (elementary benchmark (ABRSM/RCM Grade 2–3)), this piece develops essential touch control. Key challenges focus on executing clean thumb crossings beneath fingers two and three during scalar shifts. In sections with broken arpeggio figures and modern pulse chords, maintain flexible forearm rotation to prevent stiffness. Pedaling requirement: feather the pedal to sustain bass notes without drowning upper textures. Study Routine: shadow-play the accompanimental chords silently while sounding the melodic line out loud.

Curatorial Repertoire Role: The work serves as a reliable selection for contemporary vocal accompaniment, student recitals, and studio recordings.

Tessitura & Key Transposition: When adjusting the native tonality of E-flat Major, accompanists can shift down a step to D-flat Major for lower voice types or lift the melody into F Major for tenors and sopranos. Woodwinds read comfortably using B-flat Major.
