COMPOSITION

COMPOSITION highlights Wilbeth's refined handling of musical materials in the modern pop keyboard selections. The complete engraving encompasses 95 measures across 5 pages, verified against accurate modern sheet transcriptions. Bibliographic registers identify this title under ISWC `T-BA2.EAD.BC-1` and catalog entry `mbid-ba2eadbc-pianistforum`.

Assigned an overall Intermediate rating (transitional keyboard syllabus (ABRSM Grade 4 to Trinity Grade 5)), the composition exercises manual independence. The central obstacle centers on achieving fluid finger legato without relying on the damper pedal to mask uneven key releases. In performing contemporary broken triad ostinatos and resonant pedal points, keep finger knuckles rounded and poised. For acoustic hygiene, coordinate pedaling with chord changes to maintain acoustic warmth. Practice Focus: record your practice with emphasis on listening for crisp pedal releases on each harmonic pivot.

Rhythmic momentum flows through a 4/4 metric framework (simple quadruple meter). Calibrated to ♩ = 70 BPM (*Moderato cantabile*), the piece moves with a poised with natural rhythmic breathing pulse. As a practical study rule, listen for the overarching four-bar hypermeter to keep phrases singing rather than measure-bound.

Set within the harmonic domain of G Minor (two flats (B♭, E♭, with F♯ harmonic seventh)), the score secures tonal focus on G. Expressive depth is enhanced through secondary pivots into B-flat Major and dominant reinforcement via D Major. Harmonically, the progression Gm → Dm → G → C → F → E7 moves through balanced harmonic transitions (F, E7) reinforcing the tonal root. At the keyboard, G Minor provides Mozart's signature palette of tragic restlessness, asking for crisp articulation and disciplined finger independence.

Performance Applications: In performance programming, COMPOSITION is well matched for contemporary vocal accompaniment, student recitals, and studio recordings.

Transposition Guide: The default key of G Minor suits standard instrumental ranges. Vocalists seeking a lower tessitura can transpose down to F Minor, while high-register singers modulate up to A Minor. B♭ brass transpose to A Minor.
