Anchored in E-flat Major, this work utilizes a key signature of three flats (B♭, E♭, A♭). The composer builds structural coherence around E♭, deploying the relative pole (C Minor) to introduce tonal contrast before resolving through B-flat Major. Harmonically, the progression Eb → Bb → Cm → Ab weaves cohesive chordal shifts (Cm, Ab) supporting melodic variety before resolving. Keyboardists will find that E-flat Major creates a deeply expressive layout that encourages an open, tension-free hand arch on rolling chord figures.

Passages dominated by articulated bass staccatos against singing right-hand runs benefit from conscious dynamic shading. Regarding pedal usage, lift the damper pedal cleanly on phrase boundaries to preserve classical transparency. Preparatory Exercise: play the melody forte while ghost-tapping the accompaniment keys silently beneath the surface.
