Fantasia 7 Piano Solo Arrangement with Chords, Metronome & BPM

Targeted at Intermediate players (intermediate study curriculum (RCM Level 5–6)), this score presents rewarding interpretive and tactile hurdles. Attention should center on achieving fluid finger legato without relying on the damper pedal to mask uneven key releases. Accompaniment passages containing flowing keyboard arpeggios that support emotional melodic peaks require subdued dynamics to spotlight the melody. Mechanically, coordinate pedaling with chord changes to maintain acoustic warmth. Technical Drill: drill awkward chord shifts at 60% tempo, ensuring fingers assume target hand shapes before descending.

Set within the harmonic domain of E Minor (one sharp (F♯, with D♯ harmonic inflection)), the score secures tonal focus on E. Expressive depth is enhanced through secondary pivots into G Major and dominant reinforcement via B Major. Harmonically, the progression Em → Dm → G → C → F → E7 navigates expressive chord variations (F, E7) returning home cleanly. Physically, playing in this key offers a dark melancholic sonority where the raised accidental D♯ supplies dramatic harmonic tension.

In 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), rhythmic continuity is shaped by an authoritative quadruple framework where downbeat accents anchor the overarching phrase architecture. The reference performance speed is ♩ = 82 BPM (*Poco andante*), yielding a singing with gentle, steady momentum tempo profile. From a phrasing standpoint, listen for the overarching four-bar hypermeter to keep phrases singing rather than measure-bound.

1. Recital Staging: This selection integrates smoothly into informal recitals, private studio practice, and collaborative accompaniment.

2. Key Customization: For performers transposing away from E Minor, optimal vocal targets include D Minor for medium-low voices and F-sharp Minor for upper registers. B♭ transposing instruments sound in concert pitch when reading the score in F-sharp Minor.

3. Licensing Status: Prepared as a reference study edition under `unknown` standards for non-commercial pedagogical exploration.
