Benchmarked against Intermediate syllabus standards (intermediate study curriculum (RCM Level 5–6)), the work develops refined tonal control. Key hurdles center on managing two-part hand coordination and synchronizing pedal changes with harmonic shifts. Supporting figures featuring transparent two-part polyphony and classical Alberti motion need relaxed wrist cushioning. Pedal coordination: employ syncopated pedal changes immediately following each chordal shift to avoid acoustic blurs. Preparatory Exercise: play the melody forte while ghost-tapping the accompaniment keys silently beneath the surface. Score pointer: Juilliard Practice Blueprint for Faulte d'argent, NJE 29.7: Master hands-separate voice isolation at 65% tempo. Focus on balanced hand independence, singing ton.

Organized under a 4/4 time signature, the music exhibits a simple quadruple meter with 4 beats per measure. At ♩ = 88 BPM (Moderato grazioso), the pacing unfolds in a manner described as stable with buoyant, relaxed momentum. A core performance guideline: subdivide internally with relaxed forearm weight to prevent metric stiffness across bar lines.

Framed in C Major, the score establishes C through a key signature featuring zero sharps and zero flats. Harmonic variety is enriched through dialogue with the relative minor/major (A Minor) alongside strong cadential support from G Major. The chordal vocabulary centers upon stable tonic statements alternating with G Major pivots. Physically, playing in this key offers a natural diatonic surface where the absence of black keys demands disciplined hand stability and balanced posture.

Curatorial Repertoire Role: The work serves as a reliable selection for formal piano masterclasses, recital auditions, and degree juries.

Tessitura & Key Transposition: Performers can shift the default tonality of C Major according to singer comfort: a downward transition to B-flat Major reduces top-range vocal demands, while modulating to D Major enhances acoustic carrying power for solo recitals.
