Framed in E-flat Major, the score establishes E♭ through a key signature featuring three flats (B♭, E♭, A♭). Harmonic variety is enriched through dialogue with the relative minor/major (C Minor) alongside strong cadential support from B-flat Major. Harmonically, the progression Eb → Bb → Cm → Ab navigates expressive chord variations (Cm, Ab) returning home cleanly. Pianistically, the key produces a deeply expressive layout that encourages an open, tension-free hand arch on rolling chord figures.

Pedagogically suited for Intermediate students (mid-tier conservatory syllabus (ABRSM Grade 5 standard)), this piece develops essential touch control. Key challenges focus on coordinating independent dynamic levels between hands while maintaining steady metric propulsion. In sections with broken classical triad figures and balanced inner dialogue, maintain flexible forearm rotation to prevent stiffness. Pedaling requirement: coordinate pedal depressions immediately after finger strikes to keep harmonies articulate. Study Routine: record your practice with emphasis on listening for crisp pedal releases on each harmonic pivot.

Metric propulsion relies on 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), giving the piece an authoritative quadruple framework where downbeat accents anchor the overarching phrase architecture. Set to a metronome speed of ♩ = 104 BPM (*Tempo di marcia*), the overall character feels spirited with crisp finger articulation. Pianists should ensure that they listen for the overarching four-bar hypermeter to keep phrases singing rather than measure-bound.

1. Recital Staging: This selection integrates smoothly into formal piano masterclasses, recital auditions, and degree juries.

2. Key Customization: Performers can shift the default tonality of E-flat Major according to singer comfort: a downward transition to D-flat Major reduces top-range vocal demands, while modulating to F Major enhances acoustic carrying power for solo recitals.

3. Licensing Status: This title stands in the global public domain, enabling unhindered study, liturgical execution, and recital programming.
