Homecoming Piano Solo Arrangement with Chords, Metronome & BPM

Attributed to Thomas Bergersen, Homecoming forms an integral entry in the popular pop sheet music repertoire. Laid out across 4 pages containing 84 measures, this score draws authenticity from accurate modern sheet transcriptions. Work tracking associates this edition with ISWC identifier `T-124.13D.31-1` and registry `mbid-12413d31-pianistforum`.

Set within the harmonic domain of D Minor (one flat (B♭, with C♯ harmonic leading tone)), the score secures tonal focus on D. Expressive depth is enhanced through secondary pivots into F Major and dominant reinforcement via A Major. Harmonically, the progression Dm → G → C → F → E7 weaves cohesive chordal shifts (F, E7) supporting melodic variety before resolving. Under the fingers, D Minor features a tragic, dignified key signature requiring careful hand shifts when raising the harmonic leading tone C♯.

This Intermediate publication (intermediate study curriculum (RCM Level 5–6)) serves as an instructive study in keyboard voicing. Pianists must address managing two-part hand coordination and synchronizing pedal changes with harmonic shifts. Passages dominated by flowing keyboard arpeggios that support emotional melodic peaks benefit from conscious dynamic shading. Regarding pedal usage, execute full pedal clears at dynamic changes to highlight intimate moments. Rehearsal Step: play the melody forte while ghost-tapping the accompaniment keys silently beneath the surface.

Operating within 3/4, this simple triple meter generates a flowing triple lilt characteristic of classical minuets and romantic waltzes. The benchmark tempo of ♩ = 77 BPM (Andante) conveys a flowing at a graceful walking pace sensibility. During execution, let beats two and three float effortlessly above the grounded bass root.

Curatorial Repertoire Role: The work serves as a reliable selection for contemporary vocal accompaniment, student recitals, and studio recordings.

Tessitura & Key Transposition: For performers transposing away from D Minor, optimal vocal targets include C Minor for medium-low voices and E Minor for upper registers. B♭ transposing instruments sound in concert pitch when reading the score in E Minor.
