In 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), rhythmic continuity is shaped by a balanced metric groundwork providing grounded stability with primary weight on beat one and secondary stress on beat three. The reference performance speed is ♩ = 98 BPM (*Moderato*), yielding a balanced with steady metric poise tempo profile. From a phrasing standpoint, avoid pounding downbeats mechanically; keep the line buoyant through intermediate pulses.

Targeted at Beginner players (novice keyboard curriculum (Alfred Level 1 / Bastien Primer)), this score presents rewarding interpretive and tactile hurdles. Attention should center on maintaining a relaxed five-finger hand position, avoiding wrist stiffness, and reading notes accurately. Accompaniment passages containing transparent two-part polyphony and classical Alberti motion require subdued dynamics to spotlight the melody. Mechanically, coordinate pedal depressions immediately after finger strikes to keep harmonies articulate. Practice Tip: use flashcards to identify ledger lines and primary chords away from the instrument.

The piece operates in A Major, governed by a signature with three sharps (F♯, C♯, G♯). This tonal center positions A as the primary acoustic anchor, while F-sharp Minor and the dominant E Major supply contrasting tonal colors. Harmonically, the progression A → E → F#m → D weaves cohesive chordal shifts (F#m, D) supporting melodic variety before resolving. At the keyboard, A Major provides a brilliant upper tessitura demanding attentive thumb passage beneath fingers two and three during arpeggios.
