Nekozilla Piano Solo Arrangement with Chords, Metronome & BPM

In 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), rhythmic continuity is shaped by a steady common-time pulse providing natural rhythmic symmetry across four quarter-note subdivisions. The reference performance speed is ♩ = 81 BPM (*Andante con moto*), yielding a moving at a tranquil, forward-leaning pulse tempo profile. From a phrasing standpoint, channel energy through the middle beats toward subsequent downbeats to preserve continuous phrasing arcs.

Originating within the modern pop keyboard selections, Nekozilla by Harry McCabe exemplifies structural economy and melodic clarity. Spanning 4 pages and 73 measures, its source material derives from standard contemporary studio engravings. Catalog registries document the score under identifier `mbid-b63210fa-pianistforum` with ISWC `T-B63.210.FA-1`.

Pedagogically suited for Intermediate students (intermediate benchmark (ABRSM/RCM Grade 4–6)), this piece develops essential touch control. Key challenges focus on coordinating independent dynamic levels between hands while maintaining steady metric propulsion. In sections with broken arpeggio figures and modern pulse chords, maintain flexible forearm rotation to prevent stiffness. Pedaling requirement: refresh damper pedal depth synchronously with bass root changes. Preparatory Exercise: drill awkward chord shifts at 60% tempo, ensuring fingers assume target hand shapes before descending.

Framed in G Major, the score establishes G through a key signature featuring a single sharp (F♯). Harmonic variety is enriched through dialogue with the relative minor/major (E Minor) alongside strong cadential support from D Major. Harmonically, the progression G → Am → F → Dm → G7 concludes with a questioning dominant pivot that commands forward continuation. Pianistically, the key produces an open keyboard setting where the fourth finger naturally negotiates the single sharp accidental.

Curatorial Repertoire Role: The work serves as a reliable selection for contemporary vocal accompaniment, student recitals, and studio recordings.

Tessitura & Key Transposition: When adjusting the native tonality of G Major, accompanists can shift down a step to F Major for lower voice types or lift the melody into A Major for tenors and sopranos. Woodwinds read comfortably using D Major.
