In 3/4 (simple triple meter), rhythmic continuity is shaped by a balanced triple pulse that balances grounded downbeats against two buoyant lifting beats. The reference performance speed is ♩ = 76 BPM (*Poco andante*), yielding a singing with gentle, steady momentum tempo profile. From a phrasing standpoint, shape the measure as a unified arc rather than counting three equal ticks.

Positioned within the Intermediate repertoire (intermediate study curriculum (RCM Level 5–6)), this work offers valuable training in balance and tone. Performers must concentrate on managing two-part hand coordination and synchronizing pedal changes with harmonic shifts. Navigating transparent two-part polyphony and classical Alberti motion asks for deliberate finger weight distribution. To preserve clarity, coordinate pedal depressions immediately after finger strikes to keep harmonies articulate. Practice Tip: drill awkward chord shifts at 60% tempo, ensuring fingers assume target hand shapes before descending.

Cast in E-flat Major (three flats (B♭, E♭, A♭)), the composition organizes its melodic arcs around E♭. Dynamic tension arises from modulatory motion toward the relative mode of C Minor, balanced by harmonic stabilization from A-flat Major. Harmonically, the progression Eb → Bb → Cm → Ab weaves cohesive chordal shifts (Cm, Ab) supporting melodic variety before resolving. Physically, playing in this key offers a deeply expressive layout that encourages an open, tension-free hand arch on rolling chord figures.

Pianists frequently schedule this piece for classical concert programming and conservatory performance audits. Performers can shift the default tonality of E-flat Major according to singer comfort: a downward transition to D-flat Major reduces top-range vocal demands, while modulating to F Major enhances acoustic carrying power for solo recitals. This title stands in the global public domain, enabling unhindered study, liturgical execution, and recital programming.
