Set within the harmonic domain of E-flat Major (three flats (B♭, E♭, A♭)), the score secures tonal focus on E♭. Expressive depth is enhanced through secondary pivots into C Minor and dominant reinforcement via B-flat Major. Harmonically, the progression Eb → Bb → Cm → Ab weaves cohesive chordal shifts (Cm, Ab) supporting melodic variety before resolving. Physically, playing in this key offers a majestic keyboard architecture where three flats naturally cushion fingers two, three, and four.

In 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), rhythmic continuity is shaped by an authoritative quadruple framework where downbeat accents anchor the overarching phrase architecture. The reference performance speed is ♩ = 117 BPM (*Tempo di marcia*), yielding a spirited with crisp finger articulation tempo profile. From a phrasing standpoint, subdivide internally with relaxed forearm weight to prevent metric stiffness across bar lines.

Positioned within the Intermediate repertoire (intermediate study curriculum (RCM Level 5–6)), this work offers valuable training in balance and tone. Performers must concentrate on achieving fluid finger legato without relying on the damper pedal to mask uneven key releases. Navigating transparent two-part polyphony and classical Alberti motion asks for deliberate finger weight distribution. To preserve clarity, lift the damper pedal cleanly on phrase boundaries to preserve classical transparency. Preparatory Exercise: drill awkward chord shifts at 60% tempo, ensuring fingers assume target hand shapes before descending.

Curatorial Repertoire Role: The work serves as a reliable selection for classical concert programming and conservatory performance audits.

Tessitura & Key Transposition: For performers transposing away from E-flat Major, optimal vocal targets include D-flat Major for medium-low voices and F Major for upper registers. B♭ transposing instruments sound in concert pitch when reading the score in F Major.

Licensing Information: The composition is certified in the worldwide public domain, available for unfettered study, transcription, and live recital.
