String Trio in G major, G.81

Organized under a 4/4 time signature, the music exhibits a simple quadruple meter with 4 beats per measure. At ♩ = 88 BPM (Tempo comodo), the pacing unfolds in a manner described as composed with disciplined, graceful rhythm. A core performance guideline: listen for the overarching four-bar hypermeter to keep phrases singing rather than measure-bound.

Designed for Intermediate level pianists (transitional keyboard syllabus (ABRSM Grade 4 to Trinity Grade 5)), this piece demands clean articulation and hand balance. The chief hurdle entails managing two-part hand coordination and synchronizing pedal changes with harmonic shifts. Balancing articulated bass staccatos against singing right-hand runs requires distinct volume separation between parts. Furthermore, coordinate pedal depressions immediately after finger strikes to keep harmonies articulate. Rehearsal Step: play the melody forte while ghost-tapping the accompaniment keys silently beneath the surface.
