Carrickfergus – Easy Piano Solo (D Major)

The score Carrickfergus – Easy Piano Solo (D Major), composed by Traditional Irish, reflects the stylistic idioms of the modern classical keyboard selections. This edition contains 40 measures formatted across 2 pages, corroborated through standard contemporary studio engravings. Worldwide rights catalogs anchor this title under ISWC code `T-88B.9FD.90-1`.

Organized under a 4/4 time signature, the music exhibits a simple quadruple meter with 4 beats per measure. At ♩ = 108 BPM (Allegro moderato), the pacing unfolds in a manner described as lively with energetic forward stride. A core performance guideline: avoid pounding downbeats mechanically; keep the line buoyant through intermediate pulses.

Designed for Beginner level pianists (introductory piano syllabus (RCM Preparatory Level)), this piece demands clean articulation and hand balance. The chief hurdle entails maintaining a relaxed five-finger hand position, avoiding wrist stiffness, and reading notes accurately. Balancing broken classical triad figures and balanced inner dialogue requires distinct volume separation between parts. Furthermore, coordinate pedal depressions immediately after finger strikes to keep harmonies articulate. Practice Focus: use flashcards to identify ledger lines and primary chords away from the instrument.

With D Major as the primary tonal anchor, the notation designates two sharps (F♯, C♯). Phrase arches gravitate toward D, counterpointed by coloristic pivots into B Minor and subdominant foundations in G Major. Harmonically, the progression D → A → Bm → G moves through balanced harmonic transitions (Bm, G) reinforcing the tonal root. Under the fingers, D Major features an ergonomic setting that supports relaxed hand curvature across its two raised accidental steps.
