Like It Is Piano Solo Arrangement with Chords, Metronome & BPM

Originating within the popular pop sheet music repertoire, Like It Is by KygoZara LarssonTyga exemplifies structural economy and melodic clarity. Spanning 4 pages and 81 measures, its source material derives from standard contemporary studio engravings. Catalog registries document the score under identifier `mbid-7a98971a-pianistforum` with ISWC `T-7A9.897.1A-1`.

The temporal design is written in 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), establishing a balanced metric groundwork providing grounded stability with primary weight on beat one and secondary stress on beat three. The indicated tempo mark of ♩ = 119 BPM (*Allegretto*) suggests an atmosphere that is moderately brisk, bright, and buoyant. Interpretively, listen for the overarching four-bar hypermeter to keep phrases singing rather than measure-bound.

Designed for Intermediate level pianists (mid-tier conservatory syllabus (ABRSM Grade 5 standard)), this piece demands clean articulation and hand balance. The chief hurdle entails projecting the cantabile soprano melody while suppressing inner accompaniment voices. Balancing cinematic rolling bass sweeps and sustained chord foundations requires distinct volume separation between parts. Furthermore, coordinate pedaling with chord changes to maintain acoustic warmth. Rehearsal Step: play the melody forte while ghost-tapping the accompaniment keys silently beneath the surface.

Tonal grounding is defined by A Major, marked in the score by three sharps (F♯, C♯, G♯). The music alternates stability on A with expressive harmonic excursions toward F-sharp Minor and its parallel relation, A Minor. Harmonically, the progression A → G → Am → F → Dm → G7 pauses expressively on an open half-cadence, leaving harmonic expectation unresolved. Physically, playing in this key offers a brilliant upper tessitura demanding attentive thumb passage beneath fingers two and three during arpeggios.

Curatorial Repertoire Role: The work serves as a reliable selection for contemporary vocal accompaniment, student recitals, and studio recordings.

Tessitura & Key Transposition: While engraved in A Major, the work accommodates vocal adjustments readily: modulating down into G Major eases strain for baritones, whereas moving upward to B Major highlights brilliance in soprano or tenor solos.
