Megalovania

Megalovania, credited to Faulkvy, occupies an established chapter within the contemporary video-games piano repertory. this 2-page transcription spans 37 measures, drawing from accurate modern sheet transcriptions. The foundational pitch center is B-flat Major (two flats (B♭, E♭)). Here, B♭ serves as the primary resting point, while modulations into G Minor and dominant tensions in F Major shape the emotional contour. Harmonically, the progression B → flat → G → Am → F → Dm suspends tension over an active dominant chord awaiting tonal release. Keyboardists will find that B-flat Major creates a balanced key setting where B♭ and E♭ naturally frame the right-hand thumb on middle C and F.

The temporal design is written in 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), establishing an authoritative quadruple framework where downbeat accents anchor the overarching phrase architecture. The indicated tempo mark of ♩ = 81 BPM (*Poco andante*) suggests an atmosphere that is singing with gentle, steady momentum. Interpretively, channel energy through the middle beats toward subsequent downbeats to preserve continuous phrasing arcs.

Positioned within the Easy repertoire (early progressive keyboard syllabus (ABRSM Grade 3 standard)), this work offers valuable training in balance and tone. Performers must concentrate on securing rhythmic stability between hands and navigating gentle five-finger position changes. Navigating contemporary broken triad ostinatos and resonant pedal points asks for deliberate finger weight distribution. To preserve clarity, coordinate pedaling with chord changes to maintain acoustic warmth. Study Routine: rehearse hands individually with a metronome at slow speeds before coordinating hands together.

Performance Applications: In performance programming, Megalovania is well matched for popular piano showcases, private lessons, and collaborative sessions.

Transposition Guide: The default key of B-flat Major suits standard instrumental ranges. Vocalists seeking a lower tessitura can transpose down to A-flat Major, while high-register singers modulate up to C Major. B♭ brass transpose to C Major.
