The foundational pitch center is C Major (zero sharps and zero flats). Here, C serves as the primary resting point, while modulations into A Minor and dominant tensions in G Major shape the emotional contour. Tonal construction prioritizes diatonic primary chords, balancing F Major warmth against dominant G Major tension. Keyboardists will find that C Major creates a white-key keyboard terrain where maintaining firm knuckle support prevents flat-finger fatigue.

Graded at the Intermediate level (intermediate study curriculum (RCM Level 5–6)), the score fosters disciplined keyboard ergonomics. The primary technical hurdle involves projecting the cantabile soprano melody while suppressing inner accompaniment voices. When negotiating transparent two-part polyphony and classical Alberti motion, ensure the singing melody stays dynamically elevated over the accompaniment. Acoustically, use light, shallow pedaling to enhance acoustic warmth without muddling inner voices. Rehearsal Step: drill awkward chord shifts at 60% tempo, ensuring fingers assume target hand shapes before descending. Score pointer: Follow the composer's harmonic progression. Focus on balanced voicing between the melody and accompaniment, observing tempo rubato and pedal markings.

The rhythmic foundation is anchored in 4/4 (simple quadruple meter), yielding a steady common-time pulse providing natural rhythmic symmetry across four quarter-note subdivisions. Paced at ♩ = 92 BPM (Andantino), the tempo projects a moderately flowing with clear articulation musical mood. To refine rhythmic clarity, subdivide internally with relaxed forearm weight to prevent metric stiffness across bar lines.
