B Flat Note On The Staff
Here is probably the most common B flat you’ll see. It sits on the third line of the treble clef and is the B flat above middle C.
Below are different B flats that you will see on the treble and bass clef. Remember that we can play B flat notes an octave higher or lower from the B flat above middle C. This means that technically there are infinite B flat notes to choose from!
Below are notes that are enharmonically equivalent to B flat. A sharp means one half-step above A, which is a B flat. C double flat means two half steps below C, which is also a B flat.
B Flat Note On The Piano And Keyboard
B flat sits between the A and B white keys on the keyboard.
The black keys move in groups of two then three. The B flat note is the third black key in the groups of 3.
You might also remember it as the black key just before each B natural key
B Flat Note Accidentals
We can add accidental signs to a B flat note and these are shown below. Remember that all these notes (with the exception of B flat natural) are not enharmonically equivalent to B flat.
